STG Gives Back | A Community Dividend for Manhattan Beach & the South Bay
STG Gives Back is our commitment to reinvesting a portion of every project back into local schools, youth programs, and community organizations across Manhattan Beach and the South Bay.

Salt & Timber Group was built in the South Bay— and built to reinvest back into it
When you hire STG, a portion of your completed project is directed back into local schools, youth programs, and community organizations that strengthen the neighborhoods we call home.
Why We Built This
STG Gives Back exists because this community gave first.
Manhattan Beach and the greater South Bay shaped who we are — not just professionally, but personally. It’s where lifelong friendships were formed, values were learned, careers were built, and families were raised.
STG was never meant to be a company that simply operates in the South Bay.
It was designed to be a company that is part of it.
STG Gives Back is not a marketing initiative, a seasonal campaign, or a promotional tactic.
It’s a structural decision — a way of doing business that keeps value circulating locally.

Rooted Here, By Lived Experience
One of STG’s founders didn’t arrive here chasing opportunity — he grew up in it.
He was raised in Manhattan Beach, played sports for local schools, and remained connected long after graduation. While finishing his education at USC, he gave time back to his former high school baseball program. Later, he served the city directly as a Manhattan Beach City Planner, helping shape the community from the inside.
Today, he is raising his family here.
That lived experience matters.
It’s the reason STG approaches work differently — with long-term thinking, accountability, and respect for the people and places that make the South Bay what it is.

What We Mean by a Community Dividend
A community dividend means that when STG succeeds, the community benefits alongside us.
This approach ensures that everyday services — property care, maintenance, and professional support — contribute to the long-term health of the South Bay.
Rather than extracting value from the neighborhoods we serve, STG intentionally reinvests a portion of completed projects back into local organizations that support:
-
Education and schools
-
Youth sports and development
-
Environmental and coastal stewardship
-
Community-based nonprofits
It’s quiet.
It’s consistent.
And it’s built into how we operate.

Why This Matters to the South Bay
Well-maintained homes protect families.
Well-run businesses support local economies.
Strong communities don’t happen by accident.
They are built by people who choose to care — about their neighborhoods, their neighbors, and the future of the place they live.
STG Gives Back reflects a belief that local businesses have a responsibility beyond completing a job. They have a responsibility to contribute to the long-term strength of the communities that support them.
